Passionate about sustainability? You can now apply to the new Green Mary Sustainability Fund and receive up to £500 for your project.
The Green Mary Sustainability Fund was launched as one of the outcomes of our Sustainability Week 2021. This fund aims to support staff and student-led environmental sustainability initiatives at the university in working towards a sustainable future.
A total of £3,000 will be available during the 2021/22 academic year and we welcome applicants for grants of up to £500. All successful projects must be completed (including reporting outcomes) no later than 31 July 2022. The window to complete an application is between 1 and 22 February 2022. All applications must be submitted by 23:59 Hours on 22 February 2022.
All applications will be assessed by the selection panel based on the funding criteria. Successful applicants will have access to support from Queen Mary's Sustainability Team. Notification of successful bids will be received by Monday 28 February 2022.
The fund is open to all current Queen Mary staff and students. We would encourage applications from teams where possible. Projects which involve collaboration between different communities such as staff and students, the local community or different departments of the University are particularly encouraged. Applications should address at least one of the below areas within Queen Mary’s Environmental Sustainability Action Plan 2020-23;
The allocation of the funds will be decided by the Sustainability Fund decision panel composed of University, Students’ Union and Student representatives. Decisions will be made based on quality of application, feasibility of project and how the project would contribute to Queen Mary’s Sustainability aims.
