Supplying The Curve restaurant with fresh tomatoes each year, the Queen Mary allotments can be found tucked behind the Village Shop. Students and staff can volunteer in the Allotment Sessions to plant, maintain and pick vegetables.

After a quiet period during the pandemic, students have started to bring this green space back to life, planting new seedlings for the upcoming year. You can find chillis, carrots, peppers and onions all planted by students, with the support of Jack from the grounds team.
Volunteering sessions this year have covered all stages and are as popular as ever! From preparing the beds, managing vegetation and planting new seedlings, our students have done it all. Students have described sessions as “so calming to do” and are excited to “look forward to watching it all grow”.
We have some great plans to make this space even more accessible, building on its role as a hub for community, learning and socialising. Keep an eye out for updates on what we’ll be doing over the next year.
