Researching Sustainably
Queen Mary is contributing cutting-edge research to the field of sustainability, environment and energy, more of which can be explored here. Queen Mary also acknowledges the potential negative impacts its research operations may have on the environment.
We are signatories of the Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice. We are committed to driving and embedding sustainability into research, in line with the six priority areas of the Concordat and collaborate with the sector to drive a just environmental transition.
We have compiled this guidance to equip our researchers with practical tools to improve sustainability across their work. From IT, travel, and waste to carbon emissions, energy use, and procurement, there are myriad ways in which research can be carried out to achieve the transition to sustainable practices.
