New Voices in Commercial Law (NVCL) is a seminar series that aims to provide a forum for debate and an opportunity for attendees to hear early career academics with outstanding potential in the field of commercial law talk about their research in an intellectually stimulating environment. Launched successfully in London in 2012, this will be the first NVCL to be held in Paris, with another scheduled for the summer of 2014.
In this seminar, the panelists will discuss how corporation's perceptions and use of international arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism vary from one industry to another, focusing in particular on the insurance/re-insurance, financial services, construction and energy sectors.
Remy Gerbay is an academic based at the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary, University of London. He will address the energy, construction and financial sectors, discussing the findings of the 2013 Queen Mary arbitration survey: “Corporate choices in International Arbitration: Industry perspectives”.
Romain Dupeyré is an arbitration expert and Partner at Paris law firm Cabinet BOPS. He will share his unique experience of the insurance/re-insurance sector.
Dr Andromachi Georgosouli is a lecturer at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary, University of London and the research convenor of the NVCL series.
