PhD students, staff and practioners working in arbitration and international commercial law are hosting a series of work in progress seminars. For the 2014 summer session they welcomed Dr Thomas Hale (Oxford). This year, Martins Paparinskis will be the guest speaker at the workshop.
Martins Paparinskis joined the Faculty of Laws at UCL in September 2013. He previously held research positions in Merton College Oxford and New York University.
Martins is a Book Review Editor of the Journal of World Investment and Trade, a member of the Academic Review Board of the Cambridge Journal of International and Comparative Law, a member of the International Law Association's Study Group on the Use of Domestic Law Principles for the Development of International Law, a member of the International Law Association's Committee on Non-State Actors, and a member of the Council of Independent Experts in International and European law with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. In January 2014, he was designated to the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes.
