The Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) is pleased to host a training session on ICSID arbitral practice. ICSID is an independent arm of the World Bank established by States to encourage private foreign investment. It is the world’s leading arbitral institution for investor-State disputes, administering roughly 70% of all known cases under investment treaties, contracts and laws. This session will guide participants through each stage of an ICSID arbitration, and discuss recent developments in international investment arbitration, current trends in the ICSID caseload and other practical considerations. The training session is intended for counsel, arbitrators, law students and anyone interested in ICSID arbitration. It will be taught by Meg Kinnear, the ICSID Secretary-General, and experienced ICSID counsel. Comprehensive training materials will be provided.
