Organised by Queen Mary University of London and Lex Anglo-Brasil.
Day 1 will deal with comparative issues in international arbitration between the UK and Brazil. You can expect topics such as the powers of the arbitral tribunal and its relationship with local courts, third-party funding, experts' duties, and particular provisions in both countries that bring them together and others that set them apart.
Day 2 will address ethical issues in international arbitration and how different legal cultures deal with some of those issues, with a particular focus on Brazil and the UK.
Day 3 will imagine the future of international arbitration and discuss how initiatives to deal with issues like the climate crisis, and the lack of gender and cultural diversity are shaping our field and the impact of technology in this process.
