Dr Maxi Scherer appointed as a Global Professor in the NYU Law Abroad programme in Paris

Dr Maxi Scherer has been appointed as a Global Professor in the New York University Law Abroad programme in Paris.

Dr Scherer is a Senior Lecturer in International Arbitration and Energy at Queen Mary University of London and the Director for Queen Mary’s LLM in Paris programme.

The NYU Law Abroad programme in Paris gives JD students the chance to spend a semester immersed in European legal system through an academic programme designed and administered by the NYU Law School. Dr Maxi Scherer teaches a course in International Commercial Arbitration in the Spring 2014 semester.

“We are delighted that Maxi Scherer has joined our Global Law Faculty,” said Kevin Davis, Beller Family Professor of Business Law at NYU Law School and Vice Dean in charge of global programmes. “Members of our Global Law Faculty are distinguished practitioners and jurists, and our students will benefit enormously from Maxi’s deep knowledge of the law and invaluable practical experience in international arbitration.”

Franco Ferrari, Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Transnational Litigation Arbitration and Commercial Law at NYU School of Law, who leads the Paris programme, adds: “Maxi is a great scholar and an amazing teacher. Students are privileged to have her as a teacher.”
