Published:

A report on Costs and Security for Costs prepared by the joint ICCA and Queen Mary's Institute for Regulation and Ethics Task Force on Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration has been released. The report is the first in a series of reports prepared by the Task Force on a range of issues that arise as a result of third-party funder participation in international arbitration. Founded in 2013, the Task Force is co-chaired by Professor Stavros Brekoulakis from QMUL's Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS), William “Rusty” Park and QMUL's Professor Catherine Rogers, and is comprised of representatives drawn from among all relevant stakeholders and interested members of ICCA. Eventually, all the Task Force’s reports will be compiled as a special Volume in the ICCA Reports Series.

The Report will also be presented at the New York International Arbitration Centre on 3 February. Speakers include: Professor George Bermann (Columbia Law School), Professor Stavros Brekoulakis (QMUL), Donald Donovan (Debevoise & Plimpton LLP), Professor William W. Park (Boston University School of Law), John Roesser (Arnold & Porter LLP), Professor Catherine Rogers (Penn State Law and QMUL), Mick Smith (Calunius Capital LLC), Ruth Teitelbaum (Tenor Capital Managment).
