Blizard Clinical Research Fellow wins 'Best Image' in Life Sciences Image Awards 2019
Paul Vulliamy, Clinical Research Fellow in the Centre for Neuroscience, Surgery and Trauma, came out on top for his image of 'White Blood Cells in Colour'. He received an iPad Air and Apple pencil for his win.

The Life Sciences Image Awards is an annual competition held by the Life Sciences Institute at Queen Mary. Staff and students at Queen Mary and Barts Health NHS Trust are asked to send in outstanding and engaging images under three themes: health and wellbeing; health and technology; and beauty in medicine.
The winners of the categories were decided by a judging panel comprising Sabrina Taner (Wellcome Photography Prize), Councillor Sabina Akhtar (Tower Hamlets Cabinet Member for Culture, Arts and Brexit), and Victoria Adrienne (Director of Administration for LSI). The People’s Choice winner was chosen by over 300 members of the public at Queen Mary's Festival of Communities and the Barts and Queen Mary Science Festival.
Congratulations to all the other prize-winners across the different categories, who each received a £50 amazon voucher:

- Health and Technology: ‘AI finds beauty in a broken heart’ by Nay Aung
