Blizard staff set up COVID-19 diagnostic studies in record time
The first clinical samples of COVID-19 have been received by the Blizard Institute.

Blizard Institute staff have helped to get coronavirus diagnostic studies up and running in record time at Queen Mary University of London. This has included incredible help from clinical, estates, health and safety, and technical colleages from across the University.
Director of the Blizard Institute and Professor of Vascular Inflammation, Professor Tim Warner, said: "I'm very proud of our excellent staff in the Blizard Institute and colleagues from across Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and Queen Mary who have worked all weekend to make this happen."
