Chris as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer and Specialty Registrar (SpR) in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Queen Mary University London and the Royal London Hospital Rotation. Prior to this he studied medicine at the University of Nottingham, graduating with honours. He completed his foundation training in the North Central Thames region and his core training in the east of England Deanery. He commenced his higher surgical training in Oxford in 2015 and in 2023 earned his Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degree from the University of Oxford, before moving back to London to join the Barts Bone and Joint Health team.
He has a passion for collaborative research, with a portfolio which includes multi-centre audits, randomized controlled trials, and priority setting partnerships (PSP). His expertise spans systematic reviews, clinical trials, and mixed-methods research. His collaborations with institutions like the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Trainees Association (BOTA) have facilitated surgeon involvement in multi-center clinical trials. As the past Academic Representative of BOTA, Chris has played a pivotal role in advancing orthopaedic research and practice.
