Dear Staff, Students and Alumni,
I wish you and your families a very happy and restful festive season. I am so very grateful to each of you for all you have done to make our Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry successful this year. We are a community at Queen Mary and Barts and The London, built off an unrivalled heritage of dedicated care of the poor and sick across the much wider east London and the UK community. Next year we celebrate the 900th Anniversary of Barts – the oldest hospital on the same site. We have made excellent progress with redevelopment plans for the Royal London campus (The London is 282 years old) in Life Sciences. There are many amazing achievements this year and they are entirely due to our staff, students and alumni.
However you celebrate please do take time to rest and reflect on your achievements. Please return ready for a celebratory year of real progress toward an amazing educational experience for all our students and to continue to produce global-leading research and march the findings into direct healthcare for the benefit of our community. At the end of the day we want “Better Health for All” because every life is precious! Thanks so much for all you do to make Queen Mary the community it is today!
