Seminar Title: “A multi-scale spatial atlas of human skin links cancer cell states to site of origin.”

Dr Lynch is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon at St John’s Institute of Dermatology with a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Dr Lynch studied medicine at Christ’s College, Cambridge and completed specialist training in Dermatology where he undertakes Mohs Surgery and is melanoma MDM lead. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lynch has a strong
interest in skin research.

During his training he completed a PhD at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford and was awarded an Academic Clinical Lectureship at St John’s Institute of Dermatology where he performed postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Professor Fiona Watt. This work led to multiple high impact publications. He continues to be actively involved in skin research and is a Senior Lecturer at King’s College London where he leads a research team applying single cell and spatial transcriptomic approaches to understand the cellular biology of healthy skin and skin cancer.
