Following the announcement of access to the Citrix portal being reinstated and the migration of data from the H: Drive to One Drive being completed on 1 March, I am writing with a further update.
As a reminder, access to Citrix (to access Data Safe Haven and the Q:\ Drive), is now re-instated, and users can access the system in the same way as before, using their BCI user account and password.
We are pleased to confirm that the network issues which prevented BCI desktops connected to lab equipment being fully functional have been resolved.
We are also happy to confirm that all printer installations are now complete (bar one awaiting location confirmation from BCI staff). Guidance on using the printing service can be found on the ITS Printing web page.
We are continuing our work on wiping and re-imaging of BCI desktops. As a reminder, this is no longer an appointment-based operation. We assume at this point that any data which was required to be backed up has now been backed up. The BCI and IT team will continue to progress desktop migration by centre. If you have any queries related to laptops of desktops, please contact bci-migration@qmul.ac.uk.
We are pleased to confirm that the following Java Tomcat applications have been migrated to the new Oracle service and are, therefore, available to external users: Barbican, Calypso-Ila, Pakt, Protector, Abacus2, Discus, Startpac2. We continue to work on access for external users for the remaining web applications and hope that these will become available soon. We will be in touch with further updates.
Your commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of our research data is highly valued, so we are writing to remind you of two important training courses to complete.
As a reminder, all staff must undergo the mandatory Information Security Awareness Training, which is available on the Learning Management System. Information about how to access this training can be found on the Professional Development Mandatory Training web page. Please complete this training by the end of March.
We also wanted to remind you of the Information Storage Matrix (as part of the Information Classification Policy DG09), and the training which accompanies this which all staff must undertake. The training is available via QMPlus: Log in to the site | MyQMUL. Please complete this training by the end of April.
Should you have any questions or issues, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Best wishesDelphine
