Many congratulations to Sam, Becky, Krys, Ettore, Louise, Amy and Priti for receiving the award in recognition of their dedication to Blizard education.
Professor Colin Bailey, President and Principal, and Professor Stephanie Marshall, Vice-Principal (Education), presented Queen Mary's Education Excellence Awards and President and Principal's Prizes for 2023 at a ceremony held on 20 March 2023.
These annual awards recognise excellence in teaching and learner support at an institutional level, including endeavour beyond the classroom or behind the scenes. They aim to enhance the quality of education and embed a culture of excellence at Queen Mary. This is achieved through the recognition and celebration of: teaching excellence; student engagement through co-creation; support for excellent student learning outcomes; and delivery of an excellent student learning environment and experience.
Our Blizard Education Administrators were recognised for their work and commitment with an award. The Blizard Institute is a major contributor to Queen Mary's distance learning portfolio and delivers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a focus on meeting Queen Mary’s Strategy 2030 targets. The impact of the team's work is reflected in high levels of student satisfaction, with Blizard programmes outpacing comparators within the Faculty, Queen Mary, Russell Group, and sector.
Mary Collins, Kristin Braun and Jurgen Groet praised the team, saying: "We are so pleased to see the Blizard Education Adminstration team win their Queen Mary Education Excellence Award in recognition of their dedication to Blizard education. We are immensely appreciative of all their hard work and are delighted that their contributions have been recognised by our faculty and Queen Mary."
The following are some highlight's from the awards submission:
"Our team of administrators are absolute linchpins for successful delivery of our institute’s educational portfolio, facilitating a positive learning environment and supporting engagement throughout the student lifecycle.
The impact of successful administration is clearly indicated in student feedback, including data from the most recent Postgraduate Taught Experience Surveys (PTES). Several questions focused on organisation and management (13.1-13.5) clearly evidence exceptional administration.
Feedback from our students is proof that our team of administrators are making outstanding contributions to the pillars of excellence from the QM 2030 strategy."
