Emergency Freezer Availability - 14 July 2023

Due to freezers waiting for repair all back-up -80 freezers in Main Blizard building are currently occupied - NO EMERGENCY BACK-UP FREEZERS AVAILABLE IN BLIZARD LOWER GROUND FLOOR LABS

  • In an emergency, if your freezer develops a problem and you need to transfer contents please use the new back-up in Abernethy Ground Floor freezer room (opposite Post Room)
  • Enter Abernethy via the rear black double doors from the Courtyard should you need to use this back-up
  • Please contact Lab Management for the door code (Security will also be given the code)
  • Enclosed is the freezer breakdown SOP with instructions on what to do in the event of breakdown:

N.B. This only applies to -80s breakdown in Main Blizard labs (North, South, Central, open Lab).  All other areas with -80s are to use the normal back-ups in that location according to the SOP
