We are delighted to announce that Emily Beet has been seconded to the post of Interim Institute Manager for the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) from 01 June.
Emily is currently Deputy Institute Manager for Barts Cancer Institute. We had a very strong field but Emily impressed us enormously with her experience and skills. She has a very strong background in healthcare education, training and assessment for medical practitioners and allied health professionals and brings to the role of Institute Manager a broad skill set and a wealth of knowledge which will be extremely valuable.
"I’m delighted to be appointed as the Interim Institute Manager for IHSE and look forward to working with colleagues to develop and enhance our education offering, to meet the learning needs of our students as they embark on their medical and healthcare careers, and the health population needs of the local community"
Emily Beet, Interim Institute Manager, IHSE
Prior to her appointment at the BCI, Emily worked at a variety of Medical Royal Colleges. Most recently, she was the Deputy Chief Executive at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, leading on a variety of areas including strategic planning, curriculum development and design, assessment, lifelong learning and international development. “I’m very much looking forward to working closely with Emily. She brings a depth and breadth of expertise and experience in education, assessment, curriculum design, quality assurance and GMC liaison. We’re really fortunate to have Emily join IHSE at this time of change and development for the Institute.”
