The Blizard Institute 'clear-out' is currently ongoing in order to dispose of redundant paperwork and equipment.
We have now extended the clear-out period for another week, so this will now run until Friday 26 August. There are cages in each centre to dispose of any rubbish or items that are no longer in use. There are also facilities for recycling and shredding of paperwork.
We encourage everyone to go as paperless as possible for space and environmental reasons. It is also good practice to regularly clear out work areas of redundant equipment and paperwork to reduce the risk of fire and other health and safety hazards. Please be sure to dispose of any rubbish, clutter and printed materials such as posters.
In recent years there has been an increase in items stored on the tops of lockers (including those above the desks). For health and safety reasons, the tops of lockers must be kept clear. Please consider this when disposing of items, and make sure that nothing is stored above the lockers.
Please also remember to adhere to GDPR guidelines and destroy any paperwork which contains sensitive data if this now falls outside of permitted use. See the retention schedule for records.
We really appreciate your assistance with this and encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to tidy workspaces and create as close to a paperless work environment as feasibly possible.
