Message from BLSA Welfare Reps
Support our work by volunteering to join the LGBT+ Student-Staff Collaboration Group
We as BL Welfare Officers (Amelia Jones & Rob Tucker) with Dr Esther Murray are starting a new group for LGBT+ students/staff and allies to communicate, and work together on projects to make Barts and FMD a more LGBT+ inclusive space. The activities of the group will be led by members, but could include advocacy, curriculum reform, organising events and being a supportive space to raise specific issues when they arise. We hope this group will build community with staff and students alike, allowing people to share knowledge and projects they’re involved with, and be supported to make change.
Whether you have experience being part of a group like this before or not, we want to hear from you! LGBT+ people and allies are welcome. We understand that people are very busy, so we want to make sure this is a useful, productive and affirming group that people find worthwhile being a part of. Come join us to help build a radical space where people feel genuinely listened to.
