Invitation to the upcoming Entrepreneurs Club

We are excited for our upcoming Entrepreneurs Club. The club brings together budding and established entrepreneurs from across the University, to share their experiences and talk about their entrepreneur journey.

We are keen to bring in different perspectives on entrepreneurship and inspire our colleagues with the many opportunities entrepreneurship can create for them, particularly those who may not consider this pathway yet.

This time we’ll be welcoming Dr Karin Hing.

Dr Karin Hing is a pioneer in the development of synthetic bone graft materials with enhanced bioactivity to improve bone regeneration. She is one of the founding members of the award-winning QMUL spin-off company ApaTechTM.

The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 Fastest Growing Private Medical Technologies Companies listed ApaTechTM in 2009 as number two. In 2010 the global healthcare company Baxter International Inc. acquired ApaTech for $330 million.

Hing and her team provided an exceptional example of the translation of fundamental research into a commercial success story with an outstanding impact on patient health and wellbeing.

Please join us on December 6 2022 at 3pm to hear Dr Hing’s exciting and inspiring journey as a founder of a company.

The Entrepreneurs Club is chaired by Professor Andrew Livingston, Vice Principal Research and Innovation, and meets online via Teams. It is open to all, so please do share this invitation with your colleagues and your students as relevant.

To sign up, please email a.klockner@qmul.ac.uk. We hope to see you there!
