I am pleased to invite you to Queen Mary’s Festival of Communities, which is taking place this weekend (10 - 11 June).
The festival is a collaboration between Queen Mary and local community groups and organisations. It brings together people across the borough to explore living and learning in Tower Hamlets, building connections within our community.
The festival launches in Stepney Green and continues on the Queen Mary campus in Mile End on Sunday (11.30am – 4.30pm on both days). The activities are designed for individuals and families to learn something new or try something different, and to provide an opportunity to meet and interact with people they haven’t met before.
The event showcases the best of health, medical, science, engineering, humanities and social science projects and research from Queen Mary and local organisations and services in Tower Hamlets. From soft play and give-it-a-go sports, to Queen Mary researchers and community organisations running thought-provoking and hands-on activities, there is something for everyone.
All activities are free to attend and food from local providers will be available to buy.
Please see the festival webpages for more information.
I look forward to seeing you there!
Dr Philippa LloydVice-Principal (Policy and Strategic Partnerships)
