More support needed for the Clearing hotline

You will be pleased to know that, this year, we’ve implemented some exciting new changes to Clearing to make the experience as rewarding as possible for staff who are supporting on the Hotline.

While many of you have already signed up to support the clearing hotline on 17 August, we are still looking for people to meet our numbers. Therefore, if you haven’t done so yet, please sign up by 16 June. It’s quick and easy.

Your support makes a real impact

  • In a typical year we recruit about 20% of our undergraduate students through clearing: it is a critical activity for the University and your support is highly valuable.

Why do we need you?

  • This year, A-level results day will be on Thursday 17 August. That morning, we will need the highest number of support staff (from 07.30am – 2.00pm) to take calls from prospective students.
  • So far, many colleagues have confirmed their support which is fantastic, but we need more (250 people in total)

What will be different this year?

This year we are very excited to implement an improved way of delivering Clearing to make this experience as rewarding as possible for you. This will include:

  • A better venue – we’re planning to use Dept W as a base for the Clearing hotline
  • Improved training
  • Greater support and resources on the day
  • Delicious food and refreshment throughout the day!

Where will you be working from?

We hope you’ll be able to join us on site, but happy to offer flexible working, either from:

  • Dept W
  • Or, from home
