Please see the below information regarding the NIHR calls for Global Health Research Groups and Research and Innovation Global Health Transformation (RIGHT).
We are taking a coordinated approach to both calls, and any proposals will need to be submitted via an online form to us for tracking and coordinating purposes via an online form. Please view the process below and contact me if you have any queries.
The NIHR have launched the fourth call for their Global Health Research Groups (round 4) funding, alongside their call for their Research and Innovation Global Health Transformation (RIGHT) call (Call 6).
The deadline for the Global Health Groups call is 23 November 2022, and for the RIGHT call is 30 November 2022 (for RMS registrations) and 14 December 2022 for applications.
With this in mind, and with similarities between the calls, FMD would like to take a coordinated approach for both calls.

The Research and Innovation for Global Health Transformation (RIGHT) programme funds applied health research for the primary and direct benefit of people in low and middle income countries (LMICs). RIGHT aims to strengthen capacity for research and boost knowledge exchange through funding equitable partnerships between researchers in the UK and those in LMICs.
The programme promotes interdisciplinary approaches to research, including, but not limited to, collaborations between clinical, health economics, statistics, qualitative and social sciences disciplines.
To ensure we have the best opportunity for funding, we would like applicants to let the FMD research team know which award they are planning to apply for utilising the following process.
Application process: We are taking a coordinated approach to these funding calls at the Faculty level, so in preparation for applications we ask that groups that are planning to submit a bid complete an online form briefly outlining the following information:
In addition, we aim to “badge” applications under our key research themes and will provide support with background information to the themes as part of the application process. Please also send a succinct CV (with 4* papers and major grant awards from 2015) to: p.whitelaw@qmul.ac.uk. Please complete the internal application by 23 October 2022.
For further information about both calls, please view the NIHR documentation here:
