Noise disruption from the Blizard Mews week commencing 20 February

Published:

In anticipation of the bigger Blizard Mews project starting later this year, which is also needed in advance of our TC refurb project, a trial slab of concrete in the Mews needs to be dug up to determine how thick the concrete is, how much noise/vibration it will generate, and how long it will take etc. This will be taking place from Monday 20 February. A slab of concrete will be excavated in the South corner of the building, on the side opposite the Nucleus café. Therefore for anyone working in the office and write-up areas on that side of the building, apologies, but it will be noisy for the first part of that week. It could also be particularly noisy in labs LG27/28 and LG25/26.

Noise and vibration monitors will be put in parts of the lab next week, in advance of the works taking place, to determine the effect these works will have on the lab areas going forward.

Thank you in advance for your patience. There will be disruption for a lot of this year in regards to various works taking place, but ultimately we will rise up out of the ashes like a Phoenix, bigger and better than ever!

Thank you.
