As many of you are aware we have reached capacity as to how many -80C freezers we can accommodate in the Blizard Building and the QMB Freezer room.
This year we will have new people and groups joining us and we are asking for all Centres to clear spaces in -80C freezers where possible. Please can all groups go through their samples in the -80C freezers and remove what is no longer needed? We will struggle to recruit new people if we are unable to offer them the simple request of sample storage. There are a lot of historical samples in many freezers which require groups to find the time to go through and remove or label appropriately. Please can groups find this time in January/February 2024 and co-ordinate this in each research group, so that someone is responsible for this? Please send us confirmation of the following:
