Research Seminar Series invite

On behalf of the Centre for Oral Immunobiology and Regenerative Medicine (COIRM), you are cordially invited to our new lunchtime Research Seminar Series.

Published:

The seminars will take place every second week on Mondays, 12:00-1pm. PhD students, research staff, and occasionally, PIs, will present their latest research. With the start of the new academic year, we will also begin to invite external speakers. There will be a summer break in July and August, and we will restart the seminars in September. The format will be: 1 x 20 mins presentation, 15 mins questions. Afterwards, our Centre will have a meeting about general lab-related things. This part of the seminar slot will be for COIRM members ONLY.

We aim to run the seminars as hybrid events. You can find the MS Teams link to join the seminar remotely here: Join Seminar on MS Teams.

Reminder emails with the name of the speaker and seminar title, and the meeting location (we are aiming for the Clark Kennedy Lecture Theatre) will be sent out a week in advance.

The next three speakers will be:

  • 15/05/2023 – Dr Gernot Walko (group leader, Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer & Centre for Oral Immunobiology and Regenerative Medicine): "The roles of Hippo/YAP/TAZ signalling in squamous cell carcinoma."
  • 12/06/2023 – Diana Pereira (3rd year PhD student, supervisor: Dr Ines Sequeira; Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer & Centre for Oral Immunobiology and Regenerative Medicine): "Scarless healing: harnessing the wound healing potential of the oral mucosa. "
  • 26/06/2023 – Dr Randy Chance (final year PhD student, supervisor: Prof Angray Kang; Centre for Oral Immunobiology and Regenerative Medicine):"The Discovery of a Therapeutic Human Antibody against OMVs of P. gingivalis."

We are looking forward to seeing you! Please let us know if you do not want to receive further emails.
