Teach Your First Session (TYFS) is a two-part workshop offered by the Queen Mary Academy designed to help prepare post-graduate students, teaching assistants, and others who are about to start teaching for the first time. Colleagues from the Blizard Institute are invited to join the Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) session above.

This workshop programme will enable you to:

• Structure your lesson plan to maximise learning opportunities
• Review and provide feedback on student learning in the classroom
• Apply a range of active learning techniques to increase classroom engagement
• Utilise a range of digital collaborative tools to increase interactivity in the classroom
• Evaluate and reflect on your teaching

PhD students who attend will receive 4 points on the Skills Points System, 2 points in Domain B and 2 points in Domain D.

Pre-workshop preparation

Please prepare a 15-minute lesson plan on a topic you have taught or expect to teach. You can use the Lesson Plan template here.
