UKRI Centres for Doctoral training in AI Demand Management Call

JRMO welcomes EOI’s (Expressions of Interest) for the UKRI Centres for Doctoral training in Artificial Intelligence to which demand management procedures apply (i.e. Call will be centrally managed by the JRMO on behalf of QMUL)

Published:

More details can be found at: https://www.ukri.org/opportunity/ukri-centres-for-doctoral-training-in-artificial-intelligence/

QMUL can submit up to 2 applications as lead for this call.

Background:

Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) deliver high quality, cohort-based doctoral education.  CDTs will train 5 cohorts of students doing a four-year doctorate or equivalent.  The first cohort will start in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Expression of Interest (EOI’s) should consist of the following submitted as 1 PDF (Min font 11, Arial)

  • Submit a proposal (either with QM as the lead or as a partner) an outline of their planned CDT using the pro-forma attached.
  • For bids where QM is likely to be the lead institution, please also complete the attached ‘External Partners Information Sheet’. We are particularly interested to hear about levels of external engagement and likely cash/in-kind contribution as evidence that the CDT proposal is addressing a real industrial/societal/clinical need.
  • Please start the internal costing process to have an idea of requested resources and levels but do not submit for approval until the DM process has concluded.

To improve diversity in the panel considering demand managed calls and to provide researchers with the most relevant feedback, we have established a new Demand Management College, made up of expert researchers from across Queen Mary and chaired by Professor Alison Blunt, Deputy Vice Principal for Impact (Culture, Civic and Community). The College members reviewing this application will be confirmed in due course.
