As part of the ongoing NWOW project works, we will communicate regular updates highting progress to date and any works planned in the next two weeks.
Works successfully started on the evening of Monday 30 October. This included the decanting and refurbishment of the offices on the east side of the building.
All tambour units that are to be kept have been moved into the two new storage rooms. These rooms will be handed back over to us by Monday 6 November.
This weekend (4 and 5 November), all necessary furniture moves in the north and south offices will be completed. Work to reconfigure the desks in the north-west corner of the first floor* will start on Monday 6 November. The work is scheduled to take place over five nights, although the contractors won’t know exact time frames until they begin. It’s possible that it will be quicker than this.
*Staff affected by the desk reconfiguration on the first floor (immunobiology and genome centre) are advised to move personal items by Monday 6 November. The desks and other items will be moved as they are, however it would be helpful if those staff members could move personal items before this takes place, if possible. If you need boxes for this, they can be collected from outside Rachael Parker's old office (OE17).
From Monday 6 November, work will start on three of the new meeting rooms on the east side.
From Monday 13 November, work will start on the tea points. Only one tea point will be worked on at a time, and each should take five days to complete.
If you have any questions regarding the upcoming works, please contact me at rachael.parker@qmul.ac.uk.
Kind regards,Rachael
