About the Role

Expressions of interest are invited for the role of the Head of the Certificate for Clinical Foundation Studies (CCFS) programme.  The Head of CCFS will make substantial contributions to student education and experience through curriculum and assessment development and the planning and organisation of teaching activities to provide the cohort with the foundations to transition successfully into undergraduate medicine or dentistry.
 
In this role, the individual will take the lead of to the operational management of the CCFS programme and coordinate the CCFS staff in providing the wide reaching and broad curriculum. The primary responsibilities involve leading, planning, communicating, coordinating, and monitoring, with the aims of delivering the best possible student experience, and achieving the best possible outcomes as individuals transition into the MBBS or BDS course.
 
The main requirement for undertaking the role is a strong interest in the student experience, student support, and curriculum development. You will ideally have some knowledge of Level 3 outcomes and recognise some of the challenges students of this level and background face. Experience of safeguarding training would be an advantage. You will be an adept communicator who will be confident in representing the Faculty and its academics at senior level both internally within FMD, across faculties for the whole of Queen Mary and, importantly, with external stakeholders, including International embassy partners. You will be highly collegiate, able to work with academics and professional service staff at all levels of their careers and adaptable to meet the needs and requirements of different institutes across the faculty.
