BreakThrough! Women's Café, in collaboration with the School of Business and Management, proudly welcomes you to their February session at the St Benet's Chaplaincy yurt.
This café session will explore how students and scholars can support the Palestinian struggle. Guest speakers include Dr Malaka Shwaikh and the Decolonising QMUL student society.
BreakThrough! Women’s Café is a free drop-in session held monthly on Queen Mary's campus, during term-time. Co-created by Dr Sadhvi Dar and Alicia George, in conjuction with students and alumni at Queen Mary, the café centres the knowledge and experiences of women of colour. It is open to all self-identifying women and non-binary people connected to Queen Mary.
The café has been running since 2018 and has hosted a range of speakers, including student activist groups, poets, local businesswomen and scholars, and sessions have covered themes such as empowerment, navigating careers, community-building, self-care, Black Lives Matter, and feminism.
