On 3rd November postgraduate students Francesca Manfredi and Philip Vaupel attended the fourth British Chambers of Commerce International Trade Conference in Holborn, London.
The 2015 BCC International Trade Conference attracted over 600 UK and international delegates, political and business leaders, Chamber members, entrepreneurs, business students and those with an interest in developing British business success at home and abroad.
Reflecting on the conference Francesa and Philip said: "We had a very interesting day with several insights on different business sectors and growing markets for the UK. Moreover, we gained an overview of the UK market and the strengths and threats of European and worldwide competitors.
One of the most interesting speeches was from Louis Barnett, founder of Louis Barnett Chocolates who talked about how he started his career at 11 years old, the different steps in his life, what’s important for long term success and how to start exporting your goods and knowledge. He was a great, enthusiastic and very professional presenter and at some points we saw interesting approaches compared to our lectures at QMUL.
Thanks so much to Dr Stefan Krummaker for the opportunity to be part of this great day and well known conference. We can highly recommend other students to take part in next years conference."
Francesca Manfredi and Philip Vaupel are both full time students on the Management and Organisational Innovation MSc taught programme at the School of Business and Management.
