We’d be delighted to talk to you about any career issue you want support with. We’re experienced careers professionals, used to speaking to researchers about your career decision-making. Often, conversations are around progressing an academic career, or thinking about the other multiple possible directions you could go in.
Conversations are neutral and confidential: we just want what’s best for you.
Appointments are usually 30 minutes and are held online via Teams, in the iQ East Building (Mile End) and occasionally at other campuses: contact us if you think your department or group could host us.
You can also use our appointments to discuss a forthcoming interview, or alternatively find a ‘Practice Interview’ slot – you’ll be asked to provide some details beforehand.

PhD students can book appointments directly online on QM Careers Hub: look for ‘PhD/Early Career Researcher’ or ‘Practice Interview’. You’ll need to use your student details to log in.
Currently, postdoctoral researchers will first need to email careers@qmul.ac.uk to create a profile on the system. If necessary, please phone our information desk on 0207 882 8533 or visit the Careers & Enterprise Centre in the Scape at Mile End.
