We were pleased to invite CCLS Alumni to a webinar on The AI Regulation in Europe - A comparative look at the EU and UK strategies.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is more than ever at the center of both the legislative debate and the public opinion in every part of the globe. The dramatic increase of computing capabilities and the infinite online access to enormous quantities of data have spurred the accelleration of the development and the uptake of AI technologies. Both the European Union and the United Kingdom have brought forward their strategies to regulate AI at every step of its life cycle from their respective unique legal standpoints. Although the approaches to AI regulation may differ, given its cross-border effects and impact on society as a whole, the European Union and the United Kingdom have come to terms with the same issues providing a response to the necessity of a balance between the risks and the benefit of AI. This webinar from the DL TMT Chapter provided a comparative overview of the similarities and the differences between the proposed regulatory measures to harness AI in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
