57 alumni attended the first London alumni drinks at The Shield, Charterhouse Square on 21st November. This was the first occasion in recent years that we have held an alumni event for those based in London. It was a lovely reunion for some, whilst a good occasion to make new connections for others. We were particularly thrilled to welcome Antonius Tigor (LLM Computer and Communications Law 2017) who was over from Jakarta on a conference, as well as Yanting Pei (LLM Commercial and Corporate Law 2016) from Shanghai who happened to be in the UK to take her exams. She said ‘It was a really nice coincidence. It was good to see my class mates again - the first time since we left’.
Plans are under way to establish a CCLS London Chapter in 2020, which coincides with our 40th Anniversary Celebrations. Dr Gaetano Dimita (LLM IP Law 2003) will be helping with the promotions of the activities that take place within the Chapter.
Gaetano said at the event: "I joined CCLS in 2003 and never left. I am keen to help organise a London Chapter. We want to use this event to help formalise the Chapter and seek your ideas". He is encouraging other alumni to come forward to help with the promotion of activities for alumni in London.
Prof Ian Walden, Director of CCLS, noted: “This was a great opportunity to see some old faces and catch-up with people. As we enter our 40th year, we are looking forward to organising many more such events, both in London and around the world, reflecting the huge network of alumni that CCLS has built up over the past four decades.”

A CCLS London Chapter is being set up. Have a look to see how you can get involved if you live in or visit London.
