CCLS Nigeria Chapter, Beyond Masters: Maximizing CCLS – An Alumni Perspective

On October 1, 2022, the CCLS Nigeria Chapter held its second webinar for 2022. Osasu Ivie Ize-Iyamu (Intellectual Property Law LLM, 2018 and CCLS Nigerian Chapter Committee Member), sent the following summary:

The session was titled “Beyond Masters: Maximising CCLS- An Alumni Perspective” and it was moderated by Amaka Okoli, an LLM Candidate at QMUL. The panel for the session comprised of the following QMUL Alumni:

The speakers were: 

Dr Adeniyi Olayode (Comparative and International Dispute Resolution LLM, 2008), Lecturer, Queen’s University Belfast, Francis Ben Kaifala (Law and Economics LLM, 2014), Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Sierra Leone , Ida Mboob (Computer and Communications Law LLM, 2013), Senior Digital Development Specialist  at World Bank Group, Fatima Oni (Computer and Communications Law LLM, 2014), Corporate Legal Counsel, Chipper Cash and Nosa Osazuwa (Law and Finance LLM, 2015), Partner, ENR Advisory (formerly ADVISORY, Legal Consultants)

The event was organised by Adebisi Sanda (Law and Economics LLM, 2014), Governance Manager - Oando Energy Resources.

The speakers shared their stories about their lives and careers prior to attending CCLS and offered crucial insights into maximising the opportunities offered at CCLS. A highlight of the session was when Fatima Oni shared her story and highlighted how much of an impact her degree from CCLS had on her career trajectory. The speakers provided insights into how beneficial the programmes at CCLS were to their careers and gave advice to prospective and current attendees on preparing for their Masters degrees and for getting the most out of it. 

After the panel discussion, there was a lively Q&A session and closing remarks were taken by Bisi Sanda
