Per, the Founding Astronaut with Virgin Galactic, has recently appeared on GB News. UK Breakfast show to talk about the first private International Space Station mission.
Per Wimmer (Laws LLM, 1993), a proud CCLS alumnus, and also a Danish Financier, entrepreneur, philanthropist, space advocate astronaut, author, and owner of his own Family Office, Investment Bank, and Asset Management, a true leader and source of inspiration for many. Per gives talks and lectures to younger and older generations on how to implement each of these values individually but also carries out large events to bring these values into fruition and bring positive change to society. Per works alongside UNICEF, Hospice Foundation, Ideas Foundation, ShareSpace, Global Angels, and other great charities to achieve that goal.
Per is passionate about protecting the natural environment and published a book called ‘The Green Bubble’ and gives talks about the future of green energy. Other books that Per has written himself include his book in French about the future of European integration "Vers une Europe à la carte: Analyst des derogations après Maastricht" (Belgium, 1995), a book about the bubbles of financial markets "Wall Street" (Denmark, 2011). Currently, Per is working on his latest piece of writing which is his autobiography.
Per brings his values to all fields of his life including his work. A more recent initiative saw Per buying a private island in the Danish Sea which is home to a hub for bird reproduction. Per purchased this island in order to conserve the wildlife and create his own green, sustainable space, ultimately to be shared with his team as an off-site team building and strategy planning centre, as well as organising client entertainment activities while preserving and promoting the island’s natural habitat. It’s this mix of innovation, sustainability and social impact that Per values and focuses on when taking on challenges in both his business and his personal life.
