A number of our alumni attended an event organised by our Careers Services.
On 22nd June our Careers Services organised a Zoom event for our current students - Practising Law Around the World.
Four CCLS alumni kindly contributed their time to act as panellists:
Letícia Diehl Tomkowski (Commercial & Corporate Law, LLM 2019), who works as a Foreign Lawyer Trainee at Clifford Chance, Frankfurt; Safwan Moubaydeen (Laws LLM 1986), who is now a Managing Partner at Dentons, Qatar and Jordan; Sofia Stavridi (Tax Law LLM, 2014), who is currently a Tax Associate at Pinsent Masons in London and Charlene Warner (Energy and Natural Resources Law, LLM 2014), who is employed as an Associate at Linklaters in New York.
The focus of the event was to show current Postgraduate Law students that a Queen Mary law degree can open doors for you at major law firms across the globe. Our panellists reflected on their career journeys, what their day to day work looks like, the culture at their firms and the opportunities that arose from completing their LLM. They gave great advice and insights to the students present.
If you would like to volunteer as a panellist for one of our careers or other events, please get in touch by e-mailing CCLS Alumni Office on ccls-alumni@qmul.ac.uk
