John completed a Diploma in International Arbitration in 2009. He is now working as a Counsel in King & Spalding LLP in New York, USA.
I was working at Allen & Overy in London at the time and pursuing a career in international arbitration. CCLS's world-class reputation in this field, the calibre of its teaching staff, and the convenience of attending classes in the same city, made it a natural choice.
I loved attending the afternoon classes, which were always lively and highly interactive - discussing the theory and practice of international arbitration with the lecturers and other students from all around the world.
I keep in touch with many of my fellow alumni, several of whom work in the same area of law. It's great having such a broad network of friends spread all around the world.
The Diploma in International Arbitration gave me a solid academic foundation which helped enormously when working in practice on real-life international arbitration matters.
The internationally-recognised calibre of CCLS and its teaching staff, the lifelong benefits of being a part of the CCLS community, and the wonderful location in the heart of London's legal home – Lincoln's Inn.
