How did you come to choose to study at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies?

After I decided to go back to university to take part in an LLM course, I knew that I wanted to study in Europe and preferably in an English speaking country. So I checked out different universities and talked to friends, one of them was a Queen Mary Alumni. She told me about her time and experience at QMUL, which made me want to apply. When I started my classes, I quickly learned that it was a great decision.

What was your favourite memory as a CCLS student?

I have many great memories about my time at CCLS, and it is hard to pick a specific memory. When looking back, I think many of those memories were amazing because of the people whom I got to meet when studying at CCLS.

What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?

It was an amazing year that not only opened doors for me but also gave me a network of friends and colleagues from all over the world. When I get a chance to work with one of them on a case, it is always a great experience. And obviously, it is always nice to get in touch or reconnect with them.

Why do you think perspective students should study at CCLS?

There are many good universities, but something that sets CCLS apart is that people come from all over the world and the university cultivates an active exchange between the students. This resulted in many interesting or funny discussion among us or even with our professors.

Also, CCLS offers additional experiences such as qLegal which was a great way to see how the UK legal system works in practice and help young entrepreneurs at the same time.

What course did you study?

I did my European Law LLM which allowed me to choose from a wide range of interesting classes. Additionally, after the Brexit vote in 2016, the timing was just right to delve into the whole debate of the UK's role in Europe from a legal perspective.
