Andrea is currently heading up the legal and regulatory department of an international financial group focused on FinTech and traditional finance at Amagis Capital Group.
After a short experience at a primary international law firm, I have decided to continue my academic education seeking to specialise in a more finance-focused branch of the law. Searching among top tier universities, I came across CCLS and its wide range of courses, featuring world-wide known professors, such as Prof. Rosa Lastra. In particular, I identified in the cross disciplinary path offered by the Law and Economics specialisation as the best option for me. With the benefit of hindsight, I am glad to have pursue such a choice which led me to head the legal and regulatory department of an international asset management company and financial group.
It was the opportunity to meet other like-minded professionals from all over the world and strengthen both my professional and business ties with some of them, who are now among my closest friends; all of this in the context of a challenging and dynamic academic environment.
As an Alumnus of CCLS, I feel honoured and glad to share my experience with fellow students/professionals who are seeking to progress their education and pursue a life changing decision consisting of an LLM at CCLS. At the same time, the network offered by CCLS renders the experience not just a yearly study-journey but rather a long lasting plus in my career.
Following the attendance on certain courses, in particular those focused on financial regulation and law and economics, I decided to focus my job hunting on (and thus seek to specialise in) the asset management industry. The completion of an LLM with distinction has definitely strengthened my CV and led me to get accepted at an international law firm even before the completion of my LLM. Thanks to this experience, I ended up in my current role.
An LLM at CCLS is a life changing decision as it provides students with multiple opportunities, including the possibility to broaden your professional network, strengthen your legal and business English skills, but also identify new potential career opportunities in a specific niche in the market. In this respect, having lecturers as experienced professionals and international lawyers is definitely a plus, which cannot be easily replicated in other institutions.
I am currently heading up the legal and regulatory department of an international financial group focused on FinTech and traditional finance at Amagis Capital Group. I am also often invited at international conferences and serve as executive director for other group entities.
