Obrein completed a Masters in Law and Finance in 2019 and now works as an Associate Legal Counsel advising on Transactions and Solutions within the EMEA region at Swiss Re.
Working for a global reinsurer, I needed a good grasp of both finance and reinsurance law. From my research and conversations with CCLS alumni, I found out about the Insurance Law Institute. That, in conjunction with its erudite and distinguished professors, did it for me.
It was the opportunity to connect with classmates, staff and professors. Other than school work, the varied cultural backgrounds and experiences were very good learning opportunities.
Being a member of this community means everything to me and my career. I very much enjoy the seminars and trainings that the Shipping & Insurance department organises regularly. It offers a refreshing opportunity for academia and the business experience to meet. In addition, the CCLS community is a great platform to network.
I received tremendous support when writing my thesis on the nexus between Smart Contracts and Reinsurance. Part of my role today entails advising and supporting the implementation of blockchain, smart contracts and related technologies with reinsurance.
With CCLS you can be assured that 'you will never walk alone'. From the start of your studies to the end and even into your career, you can always count on the academic prowess, business-relevant approach, professionalism and support of CCLS.
