Natalie is an Associate Dean of Outreach and Continuing Legal Education at the Faculty of Law, the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica. Find out about her experience at CCLS:
My research interest in Intellectual Property Law made CCLS an easy choice. It is ideally located near to Queen Mary’s IP archive at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in the heart of London and is the professional home to some of the most distinguished academics in the field.
My favourite memory of being at CCLS is attending a lecture on trade mark law with Sir Robin Jacobs and Professors Spyros Maniatis and David LLewelyn. I had a sense of being star struck. Needless to say I came away energised and inspired.
Being a member of the CCLS community gives me a feeling of belonging to an elite cadre of academics and legal professionals poised to shape the direction of hard cases in law. It is a community that reflects diversity of peoples and places.
My CCLS experience continues to pave the way for my professional advancement through expansion of my academic network.
Reading any course at CCLS will provide a student centered environment where the focus is not just on teaching and learning but life after study. A lot of effort is expended helping students to meet academic rigour as well as helping them prepare for and find jobs.
