My decision to join the Tax Law LLM programme at QMUL was influenced by many factors. I shall highlight only three. Firstly, the programme has a wide range of modules from which a student can choose including Transfer Pricing, International Tax Law, European Union Tax Law and jurisdiction specific tax modules like US Taxation and UK Tax Law, among others. Secondly, the programme is taught by experienced and leading professors in their respective areas. Lastly, the programme ranks as one of the best LLM tax law courses in the world and was highly recommended by its alumni.
The Tax Law LLM programme at QMUL blends theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure that students get a comprehensive understanding of tax law and practice. In addition to the great teaching team, the professors often invite industrial specialists to give practical insights to students.
One of the advantages of undertaking an LLM at QMUL is that you are allowed to combine modules across specialisms. However, the Tax Law LLM is self-contained. I completed the Tax Law LLM without combining modules across specialisms.
I would recommend the Tax Law LLM course at QMUL to any student aspiring to deepen their knowledge and understanding of tax law and how the same is applied on the international stage. The programme covers every aspect of tax law!
The Tax Law LLM has helped me gain extensive knowledge about key aspects of tax that a tax lawyer/adviser has to deal with on a day-to-day basis. I am now well equipped to advise and handle tax issues that may affect my clients.
One of the best things about studying at QMUL was making friends from diverse backgrounds and countries.
