Sharan Chawla studied Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law and is now Privacy Manager (Vice President) for Marex.
Queen Mary is one of the top law schools in the UK and welcomes students from various cultures. The modules offered by QMUL were intriguing and aligned with my career goals. Thus, my decision to choose Queen Mary for an LLM was a no-brainer.
The professors at Queen Mary are extremely knowledgeable, credible and the best in their fields. I found them very encouraging and approachable. Also, lectures at Queen Mary never felt like lectures. They were interactive, full of discussions, and far from boring.
Studying at Queen Mary helped me connect with other professionals and students from around the globe. I got the chance to socialise with people with diverse backgrounds which was a brilliant experience for me.
My advice for future students would be to grow their network. "Your Network is your Net Worth."
I would also advise them to get out of their comfort zone. Queen Mary definitely helps in this by organising various networking events, guest lectures, seminars, workshops and meet & greets.
Pursuing an LLM from Queen Mary has certainly helped me gain a deeper understanding of concepts. Even though we were in the middle of a pandemic, I was able to secure a job in London. Queen Mary absolutely had a positive impact on my interviews and helped me progress in my career.
The Careers support is definitely one of the best things at Queen Mary. They were very supportive throughout the course, kept me informed about new job/internship opportunities, and helped me with my CV & interviews.
