The law of property and intellectual property in flux vs stability and security: 21st century challenges and opportunities for protecting the value of digital assets and food security through IP and property law.
CCLS Queen Mary University of London was involved in the cooperation with Ukrainian academics before the war began and proceeded to support Ukrainian scholars in wartime, hosting three Ukrainian British Academy- CARA Fellows and allowing Ukrainian researchers of excellence to continue their vital research at British Universities and allowing for knowledge exchange with a view to aiding the post-war economy in Ukraine. The projects are in the sphere of Digital Law and IP Law. The research tackles cutting-edge contemporary legal questions: 1. The status and treatment of digital assets under property law; 2. How to secure copyright in art assets enshrined in Non-fungible Tokens ensuring their stability as saleable investments.
The concept of the conference includes the wider perspective of technological challenges for law & regulation and ethical issues inherent in 21st century technologies such as protecting the value of digital assets such as NFTs.
