Dr Costanza Russo will speak on the 'impact of the EU regulation of financial services in the UK' at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) event '40 Years of the European Communities Act 1972: A Retrospective' on Thursday 6 December.
Coinciding with the Government's review of the balance of competences in the EU, this event will mark 40 years of the European Communities Act 1972 in the UK by offering a retrospective of how EU law has, in fact, impacted the UK in variety of areas, including business, IP and telecommunications and financial services. The event will be chaired by Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP (Lib Dem) and will include commentary on the Government's review by Tim Hemmings of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
