The Corporate Finance Law module, taught by Professor Ioannis Kokkoris, held two guest lectures on the 20 and 27 November.
The first lecture was given by Danny Tricot, Partner at Skadden Arps, who spoke on Initial Public Offerings (IPO) and Secondary Markets. The second guest lecture was led by legal professionals from Linklaters: Lucy Fergusson (Partner), Philippa Gavey (Managing Associate) and Lucy Reeve (Lawyer), who spoke on Share Buybacks.
Danny Tricot leads Skadden’s European corporate finance practice. He has experience across the full spectrum of capital markets work, including equity and debt work, acting for issuers and underwriters. Danny spoke about the reasons behind companies’ listing, the choice of market, and, described in detail the IPO process and the role of secondary markets in a successful IPO process.
Lucy Fergusson has extensive experience in corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions and domestic and international capital raising. Philippa Gavey has extensive experience of a wide range of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganisations and returns to shareholders across a variety of industries. Lucy Reeve is a Lawyer at Linklaters London.
