Professors Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal and Sir William Blair recently delivered key note speeches at the Symposium on Globalization, Peaceful Development of China & Major Transnational Litigation and the 4th ECUPL International Financial Law Forum Agenda.
This event was organized by the School of International Law and East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL), and hosted by the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, the QMUL-ECUPL of Global Financial Governance and Rule of Law, Xiamen School of Law, and the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA). Prof. Blair’s key note presentation was on the current developments on financial dispute resolutions and the importance of the rule of law. Prof. Olivares-Caminal’s key presentation focused on the emergence of new financing avenues in the sovereign context and the increase on rogue sovereign litigation, which can have an impact on the Belt Road Initiative. This was part of QMUL-ECUPL established collaboration and Prof. Olivares-Caminal’s continuing relationship with ECUPL in his capacity as Oriental Scholar.
